Today was nice and relaxing... We went to watch a dog race for the first time! We invited Shana but she said she prefers not to support the inhumane sport. What I dont get is why everyone thinks racing horses is just fine, but mention a dog race and people go berserk. What about those people who have dogs and leave them inside all day- they never walk them and take them out only to pee and crap! No exercise, no contact with other people or dogs? Are they living good lives? What about people who dress their dogs in costumes, put them in purses, strollers, booties. I could go on and on...
I need to do more research before I can make the conclusion that it is in fact so completely inhumane. But from what I could see at the races, the dogs quite enjoyed it.
After that we went to the beach, and played around in the waves... The water is beautiful and the car and people watching here in Miami are great. Yesterday we smoked more hookah and Shana told us some facts about Miami. In 2009 it was ranked as the richest city in the U.S. In addition, it also ranks in the top 5 for the amount of families living below the U.S. poverty line. Come on people, dont act surprised.
Tonight we're going to see a jazz sax quartet show :D How exciting! Matze and I actually like Miami so much, we're thinking about checking out some apartments for rent! Just to see what kind of deals are out there of course :)
Just for thought: Where do the people who live in Miami go on vacation? AND, how many days a year will my family be coming down to visit ME for vacation if I live here!?!? :):):)
Right now Matze is making spaghetti for dinner... and I'm watching the sunset over Miami city :D
Ohhh yyyeaaahhh...

Why do you continue to rub our noses in the fact that you are lucky? We know that you are lucky. Sheesh. When are you going to start sharing your good fortune? If you take up residency in Miami, I just might visit you from Christmas to New Year. I don’t sleep well on couches so you better have an extra room for me. Citizens of Miami vacation in Michigan during the summer because it has all the cool fresh water.
I share your passion and agree with you about the dogs and animals as pets in general. I think that people keep animals as pets in order for their owners to feel a sense of control. The animal has no recourse and must accept what befalls it. Humans feel ever so generous when they cage some animal for its own protection - yeah right. The entire animal kingdom on earth would do a lot better without humankind. Mother Nature has trained her animals to survive just fine without human intervention. You need to research on what is done to prepare and “train” those dogs for racing. You know who gets the dirty end of the stick when humans are involved. Humans still enslave people…
While in the military, I was stationed at Miami Beach; it was terrible – just kidding! I liked it. Miami Beach is great but it’s still a very dense urban area with a high cost of living. Your sister Lea was born in Miami. I got to know the area before all the “boat people” arrived. It was nice back then but I think that all the political refugees have ruined it. If they don’t like their home country then why don’t they change it instead of coming to our country and pissing in the pool? If they had come to America for economic reasons and gone through the normal naturalization process it would have been a lot better for everyone involved. The only reason people come to America is because they want what we have but it took many generations of hard labor by a lot of industrious people to achieve what we have today. The American people have made a very large investment in their country. Refugees should at least bring something to the table if they wish to share a meal with us. Everybody wants the good life but not everybody wants to work for it. Just my opinion, such as it is. Well, now that I have pissed everybody off, I’m leaving.
Have fun but when done come home reasonably soon. Your father loves and misses you.

I did the same thing when I visited Virginia Beach; looked in the local paper for jobs and apartments. It was beautiful there too. Never been to Miami. All I've ever heard about it is that the drivers are kuhRAZY, so be careful when walking! So glad yer having fun sister! Love you guys!
