Its true Blog Lovers...

The anonymous blog commenter is back for more ladies and gentleman!! *Que creepy music* -- DUhn duhn duuuuhhhnnnn -- I love it when I get anonymous blog comments!! WOOHOO!!

I have to get up at ... like 5am tomorrow morning to catch a train to Bremen, and then plane to Stockholm!! Its 12am right now... And its freezing there!! 14 degrees Fahrenheit!

On another note... Did u see that lovely email from Michelle Henry at EMU? SHes so pleasant and helpful! NNOOOTT!! Jeeze lady... anyway.. Its true folks.. Let me try to explain..

I guess I was the first Masters student to come to Groningen.. go figure.. They screwed up and made a mistake.. Apparently I can only take one semester here!! And the rest of my classes wont count towards my degree!! I even filled out a form before I came here.. for which classes I wanted to take during SEMSTER 1 AND SEMSTER 2, and even had it signed by EMU... GREAT! What do i do now!? I have options.. I know.. let me briefly describe a few:

A) Attempt to quickly transfer myself directly to the RUG (uni) and become an international student in hopes that I can register for class in time (Feb 8th) Then I will be receiving my degree directly from the RUG.

B) Pay outrageous EMU fees to continue taking classes at the RUG that wont count towards my degree...

C) Keep myself busy with some self study and traveling for a couple months while intensively looking for an internship to start ASAP (the suggestion is to start looking 6 months in advance!)

D) Return home and register for NEXT semesters courses at EMU.. which probably start in a few months *sigh*

E) Save myself the trouble and END IT ALL NOW!!!!!!!! (joke!)

Any input, ideas, comments, suggestions, direction, sympathetic words, uplifting sayings, motivational poems.. etc etc etc are appreciated!!

P.S. If there were an award for... 'THE MOST AMAZINGLY AWESOME DAD THAT EVER EXISTED AND EVER WILL EXIST IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE' ... AND.. if I had the power to give it to whoever I wanted... Then I would give it to my dad :D

WAIT A SECOND!!! I CAN!!!

Congratulations..

Jack G!nosa .. You are...

THE MOST AMAZINGLY AWESOME DAD THAT EVER EXISTED AND EVER WILL EXIST IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!

Signing off...

Greetings Jennifer,

Thank you for your wonderful accolades and I accept my award. You're making me blush and I will never again be able to fit my head through any doorway. Now I just need to find a prominent place in the house to display my award.

Apparently no one bothered to tell you about Murphy's Law: if things can go wrong, they will.

Regarding your solicitation for advice, I would suggest that you not lose sight of your ultimate goal. You have as many ways of accomplishing it as you can devise but don't lose sight of the prize. Remember dear one, whatever be your goal, keep your eyes upon the doughnut and not upon the hole. Trust your instincts and follow your interests. Don't do anything stupid and make your family proud.

Point 'A' makes more sense to me than point 'B'. I would think that RUG University would look good on your resumé. Regarding point 'C', does that imply that you will be doing your internship in Europe? I would like to have you back home in our mother country sooner rather than later but finish what you started in a manner that provides you with greatest benefit for the remainder of your long life.

Is RUG University the only option available to you? I would think not. Think outside the box! It's just a thought (from outside the box). What about Great Britain? Doesn't it have suitable Universities? No language barrier there and close to your new friends. What about your own home country of last resort? Apparently you no longer wish to be associated with America but it has some wonderful Universities doesn't it? (I am being selfish when I state that I don't want you to end up being a permanent resident in any country other than your mother country.)

I get the impression that point 'D' doesn't appeal to you at all. If so then don't do it. You have this one opportunity to accomplish what you need to do for the remainder of your life in a manner that is pleasing to you; don't pass it up as long as you return home when your education is completed (coming from selfish Dad). It's your life; make it what you want (while satisfying your family - if possible).

Love, hugs and kisses,
Your Father ::Hugging Award::

You are so freakin HILARIOUS! I'm rollin'!

Well, what a clusterfluck...(insert slap to forehead with palm of hand.) It's moments like these that I would most love to sock a person in the eye. Aaaarrrggghhh!!!

I guess my advice would be choice 'A' while working on choice 'C' and if that doesn't pan out, then choice 'F'. What is choice 'F' you ask? Well, choice 'F' is relaxing and soaking up all you can at your leisure, (if you can afford it,) until something comes thru. If you can't afford choice 'F', maybe get a job until things pan out. Is that even possible? Other than that I'm not sure. It seems to me that the money you would blow coming home for a few short months could be spent in living expenses there, ya know? Although I would LOVE to have you come home, I don't think it would be the most prudent thing. And, taking classes might keep you busy, but again, if they're expensive and they won't count toward anything, then screw it. Use that to money to live on while you get yourself back on track.

We won't discuss option E. In fact, let's forget you mentioned it.

Don't worry sister, it'll work out. It may not seem like it, but it will. This happens to EVERYONE who goes on an adventure. I don't know what it is, but it does happen to everyone, no shit. Some day I'll tell ya about my "carpet yank" as I like to call it. Scary time, but I got thru it and stuck it out for another 5 years! Best time of my life to date still. Anyway, if you need help, we'll pull together and make it happen.

Have a blast in Bremen and Stockholm! We love you sister!!!

If I were you, I'd def. choose A! Cuz as a matter of fact, you have taken and accomplished two courses (Adv. IB, Adv. IE&B)which are vital and composary for graduating from the Master's BA program "IE&B" (which is the same program I am doing). If you decide to follow and pass the course so called "Research Methodology for IE&B" and "Master's thesis" finally, you will honorly graduate from the program and receive the deploma from our proud uni! Why not? Also, in the meantime, since you are legally studying in this country, you won't worry about the visa's expiration or such things, cuz with your Dutch resident permit, you can go anywhere in the EU countries (But I still strongly recommend you to keep an eye on your passport in case...) Even later you might want to go to interviews or such things in Germany, your Dutch ID still counts! But if you want to stay and register as an international master student for IE&B program, you are gonna act fast! Safe journey in Sweden!!! Oleeeee

Hi Sweetie,
Big decision ahead. I'm with your Dad. Keep your eye upon the doughnut and not upon the hole. What is it that you hope to accomplish over there? Education, travel, Learning? Probably all, which you have already done. So figure out which is number 1 and run with it. It will work out.

You have accomplished what you wanted, now you have to decide how that fits in with a school so they can rubberstamp your learning and give you that degree. Ohhhhhhhh, the educational institute.......

You have done so well so far, you will get your degree and be able to look back on a fabulous adventure.

Have a wonderful time in Stockholm and when you get back "home" you can decide what the next step is. Just take one step at a time.

Love,
Aunt J
